Dialogue on the topic “Growing city” in B-Part Am Gleisdreieck

The association berliner wirtschaftsgespräche e. V. (BWG) invited to an open dialogue on the topic “Growing city – challenges in housing construction and urban districts” on December 9th 2019 in B-Part Am Gleisdreieck – the laboratory for the urban quarter of tomorrow.

More than 60 guests discussed with Katrin Lompscher, Senator for Urban Development and Housing, among other things about the irritating topic of rent covers. According to Katrin Lompscher, there will be no commercial rental cover as a continuation of the Berlin rental cover for apartments with her as Senator. In addition to the widely discussed topic of rent caps, the Senator for Urban Development was also able to announce progress. 58 milieu protection areas had been designated in the previous legislation. The urban development plan Wohnen 2030 (StEP Wohnen 2030) is making good progress, according to Senator Lompscher.

The association berliner wirtschaftsgespräche e. V. now has over 300 institutional and personal members as well as 15,000 interested parties and invites around 150 events a year to combine business, science, culture and politics and promote an open exchange. “The topics that move our city, Germany and Europe also move the BWG. Our strength lies in working together with the key players in creative processes to bring topics to the Berlin tableau that the city can develop further,” says BWG CEO Kristina Jahn.

As a forward-looking location, B-Part Am Gleisdreieck invites the berliner wirtschaftsgespräche e. V. association for further exciting events in 2020.
