Sports for everyone at B-Part Sports

Our B-Part Am Gleisdreieck receives an innovative outdoor sports park

The new training park B-Part Sports was inaugurated during a small opening ceremony with snacks & drinks, a “live training” and a visit of the head of sports from the district Friedrichshain/Kreuzberg Michaela Schulte together with sports ambassador Philipp Boy and COPRO CEO Mark F. Kimmich.

The facility embodies the spirit of the Urban Mitte Am Gleisdreieck: a wide range of offers for a broad public with benefits for the entire city quarter.

To this end, a high-quality sports park was built on the fallow land of the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck. On a small scale, the project meets the comprehensive claim of Urbanen Mitte Am Gleisdreieck to harmoniously combine all aspects of the urban quarter of the future: urban life, new work, mobility, art, culture, and digitalization. Last but not least, sport plays a central role in bringing people together and promoting tolerant coexistence. After all, joint physical exercise also strengthens social fitness. With B-Part Sports, “work” and “workout” should form a symbiotic connection.

B-Part Sports is embedded in the overall concept of B-Part Am Gleisdreieck. “The B-Part is intended to present to people our vision for a sustainable and future-oriented, open and diverse urban quarter,” says Marc F. Kimmich, CEO COPRO & Founder B-Part Am Gleisdreieck. “Now, the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck is being expanded to include the multifaceted sports park that rounds off our vision for the city quarter of tomorrow.”

This is also what the socially committed former top athlete and Olympic participant Philipp Boy stands for: “For me, the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck is an ideal place in the heart of Berlin to connect sports enthusiasts of different origins. I will offer a wide range of courses here, for which I have put together a gymnastics-based program. It is especially important to me to provide different classes for all age and fitness groups.

The new training area can be used free of charge and was installed as a modular and temporary system. It can, therefore, be dismantled and relocated at any time – just like the wooden building of the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck. The facility offers workout possibilities for all age, weight or performance types, and an ingenious fitness course on about 300 m2 for body fitness, fun, and movement.

Especially bodyweight fitness is possible in the sports park. The equipment in the sports park includes a trampoline, bars, pull-up bars, step boxes, climbing net, and gym rings. TÜV-certified safety is given, of course, and the floor has a special fall protection surface.

Already next Saturday, January 25th, 2020, Philipp Boy will offer two free training sessions for interested parties. From February 1st, 2020, B-Part Sports will be open to the public free of charge. Guided courses, for example, with Philipp Boy, can be booked via our website.
