How do we want to live and work tomorrow?
Take the S-Bahn from Berlin-Mitte district and you’ll arrive at Gleisdreieck. There, you’ll arrive at a very new ‘Urbane Mitte’ – an emerging centre of life and activity. At the beginning of 2019, Urbane Mitte Am Gleisdreieck opened the B-Part Am Gleisdreieck, a laboratory for the ideal urban quarter. The pioneering project offers a public café, a co-working space, an outdoor sports park and multifunctional rooms for art exhibitions and events on approximately 1,000 square meters.
At its heart is the Urban Ideation Lab, home to a think tank created to explore new urban mobility perspectives, new work, and responsibility.
Following on from the BRLO brewery, B-Part offers another early glimpse of the potential of urban development projects at Gleisdreieck – creating a meaningful and inspiring quarter for neighbours, visitors to the famous park and all the people who will work here one day. B-Part Am Gleisdreieck, the temporary pioneer building made of wood on the grounds of the Urban Mitte Am Gleisdreieck, was awarded with the independent seal of quality of international standing “ICONIC AWARD 2020: Innovative Architecture – Selection” in the category “Architecture: Special”. The two-storey wooden building was designed by Scharabi Architekten; the interior design and parts of the interior fittings were created by Supersupply Berlin. Established by the German Design Council, the award is the first independent architecture and design competition to take into account the interplay between the various disciplines.
