Urban Ideation Talk: Perspectives on Sustainable Architecture

20.11.2019 | 19:00 - 22:00

Perspectives on Sustainable Architecture – from concept and process to practice

At our next Urban Ideation Lab Talk we’ll be looking at the different perspectives of sustainable architecture.

Starting with concept and theory we look at ways that we can redefine our mindset to have a more hands-on, holistic approach from the outset. Then moving on to processes, we’ll be exploring the notion of co-production by making communities part of the ideation process. Finally when the time comes for raising up our structures, we’ll be examining approaches to material selection when logistical procedures and real world practices are considered.

Our speakers will be sharing their findings from community projects such as Urban Oasis’ Taller Tropical (open workshop) in Medellín to We-Building’s schools in impoverished communities. Building on their practical experience they’ll be proposing possible new perspectives and finally look at ways in which we can bring it back to the context of Berlin.

Join us for an evening of learning and discussions where we question current systems, and put forward practicable solutions to challenge the status quo.
