Urban Ideation Lab Event, Public Interest Technology

05.09.2019 | 18:00 - 20:00

ThingsCon fosters the creation of a responsible, human-centric Internet of Things (IoT).

The Thingscon Salon is a regular event to help create a space for the exploration of a responsible, human-centric IoT, a platform for the presentation of different approaches and projects, and an opportunity for discussion. Let’s explore how to build the next generation of the Internet of Things, an IoT that works for everyone.

Public Interest Technology

“We need technologists who work in the public interest,” security researcher Bruce Schneier famously said. And we couldn’t agree more. But while the notion of public interest technology has been pretty well established in the English-speaking world over the last few years, in Germany it’s still very much a new concept. We’d like to change that, and discuss what this means, how we can go about it, etc. We look forward to a particularly active debate!

This ThingsCon Salon is co-hosted by Sven Ehmann and Peter Bihr, fellows of the Urban Ideation Lab at our venue B-Part Am Gleisdreieck.
